Sega: Yakuza Studio Ryu Ga Gotoku works on a new brand

After the Yakuza and Judgement series, the developers of Rio GA Rothko want to go to new realms. As we have reported last month, the developer studio Rio GA Rothko works on his famous Yakuza series and will bring fans to make an eighth part. Yakuza 8 will play a few years after the events from the seventh part and continue the history of Like A Dragon protagonist Michigan Cayuga.

But that should not be the only game on which the studio works. In an interview with the Japanese game magazine Fujitsu, the Studio Manager Masayoshi Yokohama stated that more projects outside the Yakuza series were planned. This includes the Action Adventure series Judgement, which represents a spin-off of Yakuza games from 2018. We will also take care of the judgement series, he said, but did not go so far to confirm a third game of the series as officially in development.

The reason for this could be the still existing disputes between the Agency of Judgement actor Tanya Timur and Publisher Sega. Sega had planned to bring a PC version to the market, which the agency had simply blocked. But such setbacks the studio can not be stopped and also works on a completely new brand. Beyond Judgment, we would also like to attack a completely new game as soon as the prerequisites are created, Yokohama said. In addition to Yakuza and Judgement we also work on other unannounced titles.
